OSR Garage is bringing you 2 of the Best Midsize Truck 2023. 2023 was the debut of the Redesigned Chevrolet Colorado and in 2024 will bring the Redesigned Ford Ranger. Which is your favorite? Which would you choose in 2023?
The 2023 Ford Ranger XLT and the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 are both midsize pickup trucks that offer a variety of features and capabilities.
Engine and performance: The Ranger XLT is powered by a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The Colorado Z71 is powered by a 3.6L V6 engine that produces 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Both trucks offer four-wheel drive and a variety of transmission options.
Payload and towing: The Ranger XLT has a maximum payload of 1,860 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. The Colorado Z71 has a maximum payload of 1,700 pounds and a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds.
Interior and features: The Ranger XLT has a comfortable and spacious interior with plenty of features, including a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a rearview camera. The Chevy Colorado Z71 has a similar interior, but it also offers a few additional features, such as a 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a Bose sound system, and a sunroof.
Off-road capability: The Ranger XLT is not as off-road capable as the Colorado Z71. The Colorado Z71 comes standard with a variety of off-road features, including a locking rear differential, hill descent control, and an off-road suspension.
Pricing: The 2023 Ford Ranger XLT starts at $32,395. The 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 starts at $41,395.
