Here is an easy way to convert an old computer power supply to use on your model railroad work bench or layout. It can be used either way with a few common inexpensive parts. You can power anything from 3.3 VDC to 24VDC with ample amperage available by combining the many leads available for the outputs.

Computer power supplies are a great source of DC voltage for our model railroads. We can operate almost everything imaginable from one source.
