I made this short film a few months ago as a final for my core VCUcinema class, which was not a very good class. I didn't learn anything new. The actual requirements for this film were that it could only be 1 minute long, we had to shoot on iPhone (instead of my expensive camera), and other stupid stuff that we already did way back in freshman year. I said f*ck that, I'm going to use my time to make something good, something that could actually challenge me. I initially wrote a 7 page script titled "Slow Down", but due to it being the time of finals for classes, we didn't have enough time to shoot all of it. I edited what we shot into this film, "Writer's Block".

My teacher didn't like it (shocking! Though I wouldn't expect her to know what is quality. After all, the guest speaker she brought in and told us was qualified had absolutely zero qualifications and stole the scene he "directed" from the film August: Osage County [2013, not directed by him]. He was also creepy towards the female students. That guy sucked). She said she didn't like or understand the concept. I personally believe it's an easy concept to understand. Then at the end of the semester she yelled at everyone for not wanting to come to class even though she consistently had no class plan prepared, wasn't supportive of our endeavors, and constantly talked down other students. She no longer works for VCUcinema, which is good, because the students deserve better.

I made this film the way I wanted to, with my own camera, and the cast and crew that I wanted. The film sat on my computer for a while I focused on other projects, but I finally got around to finishing it! Enjoy!
