Portal Companion Collection (Portal 1 and Portal 2) on Nintendo Switch compared to Portal 1 and 2 on Steam Deck. Can you tell the difference?
It’s time for a portable Portal punch-out as Valve’s classic puzzle platformer game faces off against itself with handheld versions on both Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck. Portal 1 and 2 were originally released on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 (PlayStation 3), and Mac, with Portal 1 released as part of the The Orange Box bundle in 2007 (along with Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, and Team Fortress 2) and Portal 2 released as a standalone game in 2011.
Now Portal has arrived on Nintendo Switch in the Portal: Companion Collection with both the original Portal and Portal 2 included. It features all the content from the original games, including the evil robot GLaDOS (played by Ellen McClain), the loveable artificial intelligence Wheatley (played by Stephen Merchant), companion cubes, portal guns, and cake. Or maybe not. The cake is a lie. Or is it?
But what’s really interesting is Valve recently debuted their own handheld gaming console to rival the Nintendo Switch - the Steam Deck - and both Portal 1 and 2 can be played on this device. So, how exactly do these two portable versions of Portal stack up against each other? Are there any big differences, or is the difference negligible? Join us for this graphics comparison as we compare Portal on Nintendo Switch to Portal on Valve’s Steam Deck!
