Kendrick Lamar and Drake recently partook in a massive 20v1 rap battle which also involved Metro Boomin, Future, A$AP Rocky, Childish Gambino, Jaden Smith, Lil Yachty (maybe), Travis Scott (maybe), Rihanna, YG, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, and more - one name who at one point was involved in this beef was J. Cole.
J. Cole famously took the first diss aimed at Kendrick - then apologized 2 days later on stage at his Dreamville Music Festival. And while Kendrick Lamar won the beef with his #1 hit record that was also a diss record with 'Not Like Us' - J. Cole sat on the sidelines and watched it play out.
He just dropped a new record called 'Port Antonio' - and on it he reflects on why he backed out of the beef. We will break down the lyrics of the song and understand why J. Cole's greatness should still be defended.
