VW ATLAS Built in Tennessee In November 1949 Volkswagen introduced a radical product that would change the world–The Microbus! An outgrowth the Beetle sedan this funky little machine was a forerunner for the modern SUV. Adopted by hippies, surfers and families throughout the world, the Microbus became synonymous with road tripping adventure! Now sixty-eight years later VW is at it again, this time with a brand full size SUV called the Atlas that’s built in one of the world’s largest and most modern factories in Chattanooga, Tennessee!
