The song is about Bensoul's journey from Embu to Nairobi, where he started pursuing his music career as a bass guitarist and ended up getting signed by Sauti Sol. In the song he asks his mum to keep praying for him as his own prayers are not enough, having been exposed to the fast life, glitz and glam that comes with the fame, he prays not to get caught up in the hype but remain grounded and connected to his roots.
