Icewear Vezzo Talks Prison, Ice T, Buying Food Stamps, Pluto, Buying Rolls Royce + More

Icewear Vezzo was born on October 31, 1989 and his birthplace is Detroit, Michigan. Icewear is best known for his mixtape trilogy The Clarity. He was convicted of a felony gun charge in 2017 and did twenty months in prison. Prior to turning himself over to the authorities, he released a full-length album called Price Goin Up. Delivering his hardcore rhymes with staccato finesse, he got his start in Green Guyz, and as a solo artist he has been active since 2012, the year he issued The Clarity, his first mixtape. Among his highlights since then are the Billboard-charting The Clarity 3: Fully Blown (2014), the Motown-issued Clarity 6 (2018), and Rich Off Pints (2021), plus numerous tracks that have been streamed in the millions, such as "Champions" and "The Sit Down," two of his many collaborations with Babyface Ray. He recently signed with Quality Control Music.

The interview starts with Marco asking Icewear Vezzo about public defenders and Vezzo goes in on how public defenders are a set up. Marco then asks about people jumping off the porch and Vezzo cleverly responds. Marco then asks who is Vezzo’s favorite feature and he responds Pluto. Marco continues with the hood questions including Vezzo’s first fight in school. Marco then asks about temp tags for which Vezzo gives a great explanation. Marco then asks Vezzo about some lyrics and how he got his name. Marco continues to pepper Vezzo with questions including how he feels about Ice T and says he is a legend. Marco asks Vezzo about his prison experience and Vezzo talks about how he was caught with a cell phone. Marco plays the “what lyric did you say?” game and Vezzo passes with flying colors. Marco goes into a bit about dancing in videos and Vezzo isn’t falling for it. Marco continues the awkward questions including his favorite strip club and Vezzo shouts out Truth in Detroit. Vizzo tells Marco to pause because of the awkwardness of the interview. Marco asks what’s the most Vezzo has spent in a day and he says he bought a Rolls Royce. Vezzo also reveals that he has a new movie coming out. Vezzo also admits that he buys food stamps.
