James spends a week with the 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV EX Premium AWD during the winter to see if this 55km plug-in hybrid might be the right one for you.

This video was made possible with the support of Elmec and their EVduty Smart Home Charger. You can schedule, control access, and even see your estimated charging costs from the EVduty smartphone app. Use public charging stations and grant access to your own all from the app. For more information about the EVduty Smart Home Charger visit: https://www.elmec.ca/language/en/

We last drove the 2023 Kia Sportage in it's regular ICE form last year and found it had horrendous fuel economy no matter what we did with it. This time around James is in the equivalent PHEV trim to see how it compares. Note: the US version of this vehicle appears to be physically different from the Canadian version.

James goes over all the exterior and interior features of this compact PHEV crossover along with the 1.6L engine and how it produces a combined 261 horsepower with the electric system. He also talks about some of his experiences driving this vehicle in the winter, along with some things that you may not notice if you take one on a short test drive if you're in the market to buy one.

We then hit the road in the 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV EX Premium to see how this crossover handles the Canadian winter, along with our thoughts on the plug-in system in comparison to the larger Sorento PHEV we drove a while ago.
