International Plumbing Code Chapter 9 is all about sanitary drainage systems. This video presentation covers IPC sections 901 to 905. Plumber-Tom explains what vents are, and the importance of having vents on drainage piping. These sections describe where vents are required, vent termination requirements, vent stack requirements and the slope of drainage vent piping.

This video is based on the 2021 International Plumbing Code, so chapter 9 might look a little different than previous or later versions of the code. Generally, the code requirements do not change much from one edition to the next.
