As part of a film scoring class I took at Queens College in Fall 2020, I scored for this short scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I, where Harry, Ron, and Hermoine are chased and eventually captured by the Snatchers. Alexandre Desplat composed for the original film, and his take on this particular scene was to let the action play out without much music. It works quite well, obviously, since Desplat is quite excellent at film composing. In the film, by this point, the characters are tired, and his muted use of music in this scene also signals the inevitability of being captured.

My version for this scene is not reflective of how I would compose the entire film, but just this scene and its visceral direction. I hope you enjoy.

I don't own the copyright to the scene, but I am using it for educational purposes. The Copyright goes to Warner Bros.
