The NY Auto Show has got some really cool new car designs and today we’re going to talk about the US version of the Kia Niro. I’m gonna show you all around the design from the front side and rear and let you know my thoughts on it.

It comes as an EV model as well with a decent range of 253 miles which is probably the one I would go for. The Niro just feels right as a funky little EV.

The standard powertrain will still be a hybrid and that comes equipped with a 139-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder, a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, an electric motor and front-wheel drive.

This base version is what you want if you’re not feeling the EV but still want great MPG as it should receive an estimated 53 mpg Kia. Up from 50 mpgs in the old version.

But the EV is still my favorite here and it’s pretty quick too with a 201-hp electric motor powered by a 64.8-kWh battery pack. It will also support DC fast-charging which means it can technically recharge from 10 to 80 percent in about 45 minutes.

It’s got a really fun and expressive design not just on the exterior but the interior as well which I can’t wait to talk more about in a second.

It’s also a little bigger than the outgoing model which should help with interior space. All versions of the 2023 Niro will go on sale this summer here in the US.
