Croton Falls Fire Department Car 2072 and Tanker 88, along with North Salem Police Department Unit 7K364 responding to a reported large explosion with multiple trees on fire on Interstate 684 northbound in the area of Mile Marker 20.6 in North Salem, New York. Engine 148, Mini Attack 17, and Tanker 8 from the Croton Falls Fire Department also responded to this call, but are not seen in this video.

When Car 2072 signed on, 60-Control (dispatch) advised him that the caller was traveling southbound on Interstate 684 and reported seeing a large explosion with trees on fire on the northbound side. Engine 148 was the first unit in the area and reported that there was a burn barrel on a property on Route 22 (which runs directly parallel to Interstate 684 in that area). With nothing else evident on the highway, units redirected to Route 22 to investigate. Car 2072 arrived on scene on Route 22 and confirmed a burn barrel next to the highway that was likely the cause for the original call. He reported the fire was contained to the barrel and that the homeowner would be extinguishing it and all Croton Falls units went back into service.
