okay first off disclaimer i have no idea wtf yixing is saying in the beginning, because it wasn't included in the lyrics. to me, it sounds like he's saying "i am such a barren light (night??)" with bad pronunciation of barren but idk. if you didn't think it said that you're gonna never be able to unhear it now anyway :D

anyway this song is unexpectedly lit esp the chorus and i feel like it's yixing's way of saying a big f u to all his haters and saying he doesn't have to show you jack if he doesn't want to but he's doing it because he loves what he's doing. the song was, as usual, kind of hard to translate but this time it was mostly because it was hard to condense since yixing used a lot of chinese idioms.

"勿忘初心/保持初心" basically means don't forget the feelings you had when you first started something / why you started it and why you like to do it. "世态炎凉" i translated roughly as hypocrites but it's more specifically it's like how people tend to suck up to you if you're successful and rich, so hypocrites. "假的" is fake, technically, but I just kept it as "a lie" to keep up with the truth/lie opposition. (truth/falsehood just sounds awk)
