Russia's invasion of Ukraine brings "unprecedented" threats to nuclear power plant safety, nuclear researcher Mariana Budjeryn, who is Ukrainian, told NOVA.

"Nothing like [this] has happened previously in history," Budjeryn says. "None of the safety and security procedures have been designed with that kind of set of threats in mind," she says of Ukraine's 15 nuclear reactors and Russia's invasion of the country.
