A massive monster emerges in the Han River. This mutant creature grows in size due to the toxic formaldehyde a U.S. military base dumped into the river. The sight of this gigantic creature triggers panic in Seoul, and the monster snatches the granddaughter of a neighborhood grocer named Hee-bong. Brave Hee-bong and his family, including his sons and daughter, set out on a mission to rescue the girl from the monster's lair.
