Title is not clickbait. Our run is the fastest verified run on speedrun.com despite being duo because of the reasons below.

This run is far from optimized--we had two days worth of runs before the Fallen Shield skip was patched. Due to the patch, this run will unfortunately never be beaten. Within the time that people were running with the shield skip, we achieved the fastest time despite being a duo (the only team running trio got an 8:04).

How is this considered a speedrun when you glitch through the map and change characters?
This is a verified speedrun on speedrun.com. By default, Destiny 2 speedruns are all considered any%, meaning any technique can be used to complete an activity as fast as possible. This includes out of bounds, glitches, and exploits, within reason (some things are still banned such as the drop box glitch). If people actually had interest in an in-bounds category, they'd run it and open that category on speedrun.com, but no one does that because any% is the most fun and usually most impressive. The point of a speedrun is to complete something as fast as possible, so why would we limit ourselves when those options are on the table?

Why do you run Mountaintop?
It's a lightweight weapon so I get a sprint speed bonus while holding it out, and it's used to kill myself to pull to ogre later in the run.

Why do you drop your light level?
I drop my light so Mountaintop can 1 shot kill me.

How do you kill the ogre so fast?
The titan uses a 1-2 Punch shotgun with Code of the Devastator (hammers), Tractor Cannon, and Wormgod Caress. I use stasis super because melees do 2.3x the damage to frozen targets.

What happened during the sparrow sections?
My mouse was bugging causing multiple misinputs. I also flew past the mine because my sparrow wouldn't pull out (I'm bad).

How does the Fallen Shield skip work?
Basically there is a vandal tied to the health of the Fallen Shield (similar to first encounter DSC). This vandal is located in a box outside of the map. By throwing a squall at the box, the vandal dies and the encounter completes.
