The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Professional edition is engineered so that you can adjust the heat and airflow for different hair types so that you can better protect hair from heat damage.

Stylist, Joy, talks about how she uses the different settings for fine hair, medium density, thicker hair, or damaged hair.

Step 1. For thin, fine hair or short hair, use low air and low heat.
Step 2. For medium density or textured hair switch to medium air and medium heat.
Step 3. For thicker coarse hair, use high air and high heat for better results.
Step 4. For very damaged or coloured hair, use low heat and adjust the air flow based on the density of the hair.
Step 5. When using the diffuser adjust the heat to match the density or damage level.
Step 6. For highly textured hair, or hair you are trying to manipulate, use high heat and adjusting air flow based on the hair's density.
Step 7. And with all these hair types, don't forget to use the cold shot button to really lock in that style and shine.
