In this How to clean battery acid corrosion in electronics - Wii remote repair video, I'll show you what to do about battery leakage and how to easily repair your Wii nunchuck battery acid corrosion.

If the leaked batteries were alkaline, you can try cleaning the corrosion with white vinegar on a Q-tip, though I recommend wearing gloves to avoid contact with the residue.


To clean battery corrosion in toys (if it's white or blue battery acid corrosion) you need to use vinegar, lemon juice, or some other acidic substance to fix it.

The corrosion in this Wii remote wasn't actually caused by battery acid... the battery corrosion is cause by alkaline battery leaks. By using acid for this Wii remote repair (dabbing it on with a Q-tip or cotton bud), the damaged wii remote electronics are repaired as the basic (alkaline) substance is neutralised and becomes easier to clean.
