In January, North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un labelled South Korea an enemy state and dashed all hopes of reunification. This comes on the back of numerous missile tests in the last two years. Then in March, Kim would tell the North Korean military to prepare for war.
Across the 38th parallel, South Korean President Yoon has taken a similar hardline stance. He has refused dialogue with his counterpart in the North, while increasing the number of joint military exercises with the American Military.
