Parkour for dogs is great for physical and mental fitness and stimulation, can be great for confidence building; it also teaches dogs to focus on their owners, increases enrichment from the environment and can help with training around distractions like other dogs.

It's really easy to get started and has loads of benefits - why not give it a go?!

Parkour for dogs can range from putting two feet up onto something, to jumping over objects, ducking under objects or walking along things. Teaching two paws up can be a great grounding exercise for dogs who can struggle to manage their emotions.

You can keep it simple, or link exercises together. You could introduce walking backwards onto objects, doing tricks whilst balancing on appropriate obstacles. This can all be great for physical strength and fitness as well as emotional and behavioural health. Using brain and body is great for nicely tiring out your dog.

It really is great fun and helps dogs to more confidently navigate with and engage with the world around them. There aren't many dogs, or dog-owner teams, that wouldn't benefit from engaging in parkour for dogs!
