Berklee Valencia and Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia students perform “Dolcenera.” The Italian song by Fabrizio de André reflects on an unfulfilled love story between an unnamed narrator and “the wife of Anselmo.” It is a call to love beyond our sense of “reason”, in spite of all the things keeping us apart.

The song was arranged by graduate students Cecilia Barra M.M. ‘23 and Nathan Bieber M.M.’23

De Norte a Sur, de Este a Oeste is a musical collaboration where North and South, and East and West meet—and where classical and modern musical traditions went hand-in-hand; it’s a project where students from very different backgrounds came together to celebrate the diversity of culture and music.

Through this cross-collaboration, students and faculty shaped a unique proposal to show us that music is a universal language that unites us, allows us to share and learn about the multicultural richness of other countries, and helps us understand each other.
After their concert in Valencia, students have the opportunity to travel to Madrid to share the repertoire with new audiences.
