Following the Phoenix Suns (46-33) falling 105-92 to the Los Angeles Clippers (51-28) in the regular season home finale, Royce O'Neale talks through what went wrong for the Suns.

The Suns had an awful start to the game, and that’s putting it mildly. Phoenix trailed by as many as 37 multiple times in the second quarter, but did actually end up cutting the lead to as little as seven in the fourth somehow. If they were able to come all the way back, it would have been the largest comeback in NBA history.

Phoenix dropped to seventh place in the Western Conference standings, one game behind the New Orleans Pelicans, who they own the tiebreaker over.

The 92 points were a season low for Phoenix, as was a 33.7% field-goal percentage. The Clippers outrebounded them 63-38, the most rebounds the Suns have let up in a game this season. Phoenix, additionally, only had 17 assists on 30 made shots.

The Suns, encouragingly, did force 18 turnovers and only had eight of their own.

Jusuf Nurkić (ankle) was out for Phoenix, so Drew Eubanks started. However, O'Neale started the second half over Eubanks and it paid dividends, as Phoenix rolled out a 6-man rotation for the half.

O'Neale finished with 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting (2-of-7 3-point), 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals. He was the only Sun to be a positive plus/minus, as he finished a +8.

Some other final stats for Suns:
Kevin Durant: 21 PTS (8-22 FG, 2-5 3PT), 2 REB, 2 AST, 2 STL
Bradley Beal: 19 PTS (6-13 FG, 1-2 3PT), 7 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 5 BLK (career high)
Devin Booker: 12 PTS (1-11 FG, 0-4 3PT), 5 AST, 3 REB, 2 STL
Eric Gordon: 11 PTS (4-9 FG, 3-8 3PT), 4 STL
Grayson Allen: 9 PTS (3-13 FG, 0-8 3PT), 6 REB, 2 AST, 3 STL

James Harden (foot) and Kawhi Leonard (knee) were out for Los Angeles.

Russell Westbrook stepped into the starting lineup and delivered his first triple-double of the season, finishing with 16 points, 15 assists and 15 rebounds for the Clippers. Paul George led LA with 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Phoenix once again plays the Clippers tomorrow night but in Los Angeles.
