The German automaker Porsche has unveiled the upcoming Macan SUV, which is the brand’s new all-electric mid-size SUV built on the PPE platform. The Macan EV will compete against the BMW iX and the Mercedes EQE SUV and is reportedly set to go on sale in the second half of 2024.

The 2024 Porsche Macan EV marks the brand's second electric vehicle following the Taycan. It also signifies the initial shift in the product line from traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) power to a fully electric powertrain.which will arrive with a choice of two four-wheel-drive variants: the 408hp Macan 4 and the 639hp Macan Turbo.

in terms of exterior design of the Porsche Macan EV, it will adopt the style of an SUV coupe. Featuring a sloping roofline reminiscent of the Cayenne Coupe, the front end showcases split headlights with four LED lights arranged atop the daytime running lights adjacent to the hood, akin to the Taycan.

The lower lights are enclosed within a rectangular frame, framing the blacked-out grille. The bumper, particularly on the Turbo model, boasts an aggressive design and features an active cooling pad at the front air intake.

The macan's side lines maintain Porsche's distinctive design and are adorned with strips of Kravla material along the side door sills.

At the rear, there are LED taillights spanning the entire width, complemented by an active rear spoiler to enhance sportiness. The design of the Porsche Macan EV prioritizes agility and minimizes air resistance, boasting a coefficient of just 0.25 Cd. This figure is slightly higher than the Taycan, which holds a value of 0.22 Cd.

In terms of dimensions, The Macan measures 4,784 mm in length, 1,938 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height, featuring a wheelbase of 2,893 mm.

The Macan's interior has undergone a comprehensive redesign. The dashboard showcases three screens, including a 12.6-inch curved screen instrument panel positioned behind the multi-function steering wheel.
The central display screen, measuring 10.9 inches, will be connected to a front passenger screen of the same size, supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additionally, it is equipped with a Head-Up Display screen on the front glass, featuring augmented reality technology.

all models of the new Macan EV have a capacity of 540 liters. However, when the rear seats are folded down, the capacity increases to 1,348 liters. Additionally, lifting the hood reveals a small storage compartment with a capacity of 84 liters.

The Macan EV will be constructed on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform from the Volkswagen Group and will be offered in two power levels.

The Macan 4 model will feature dual electric motors, generating 408 horsepower and 650 Newton meters of torque. This configuration enables acceleration from 0-100 km/hr in 5.2 seconds, with a top speed reaching 220 km/hr.

The Macan Turbo model will also be outfitted with twin electric motors, boasting a higher power output of 639 horsepower and a torque of 1,130 Newton meters. This configuration allows for acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 260 km/h.

The Macan is equipped with a lithium-ion battery featuring a 95 kWh capacity. In the Macan 4 model, when fully charged, it can cover a distance of up to 613 km, whereas the Macan Turbo version has a slightly shorter range at 591 km. The vehicle utilizes an 800V architecture, supporting high-voltage DC charging of 270 kW. This allows for a 10–80% charge in just 21 minutes. Additionally, it supports AC charging of 11 kW.

The Porsche Macan 4 will cost from £69,800 and the top-spec 630bhp Turbo will hit £95,000
