After months of upgrades and improvements following the first launch, SpaceX launched the second integrated flight test of its Starship rocket. Liftoff from the Orbital Launch Mount at Starbase near Boca Chica Beach in southern Texas occurred shortly after sunrise on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

The rocket successfully made it through stage separation and Ship 25 crossed the Karman line about 3.5 minutes into flight. The flight termination systems were triggered on both the Starship upper stage as well as on the Super Heavy Booster before they were able to complete their nominal flight profile.

The Federal Aviation Administration is now overseeing a SpaceX-led mishap investigation ahead of the next test flight of Starship.
