Caleb Williams to the Chicago Bears rumors are growing by the day as Williams reportedly had “overwhelmingly positive” meetings with the Bears before USC’s Pro Day. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears had a dinner with Williams and some of his teammates + spent most of Tuesday with him testing his football knowledge and getting to know him better. Also, did Williams have a freudian slip after his pro day yesterday? Williams was asked by NFL Network about Keenan Allen and he said “he’s here for a 4th round pick which is crazy” when referring to the trade between the Bears and Chargers. By saying “he’s here” is Williams suggesting that the Bears are drafting him? Bears draft rumors are heating up with just over a month left until the 2024 NFL Draft.

After spending parts of three days together, it’s safe to say the Bears have made a large step toward making Williams the No. 1 pick on April 25. First they met with Williams and a collection of USC teammates who also participated in Wednesday morning’s pro day on Monday night at the Bird Streets Club, a trendy private spot in West Hollywood. The Bears got to spend time with Williams and also see how he fit in with teammates. They’ve gotten strong reviews in that area for months as they sought input from teammates, coaches and staff members past and present. What’s he like? How does he fit in? Is he authentic? The responses have been overwhelmingly positive.”

“I’ve known Keenan for a little while. He was at the Chargers at the time and now he’s with the Bears. He’s here for a 4th round pick which is crazy. He had his best year last year. He’s a beast and a good guy. Good to be around him and gain a lot of knowledge.”
