While at the GIE a few weeks back, a bunch of us were talking about trimmer heads and this topic came up in conversation. A bunch of the guys were talking about adding bolts to their speed feed trimmer heads to "bullet proof" them and make them last a long longer.

Intrigued I asked a bunch more questions and even remember seeing this exact upgrade done by a bunch of guys on Instagram. I definitely do not take credit for this upgrade or idea by any means. I simply wanted to try it out on one of my trimmer heads and see how much longer my heads lasted without having to replace the caps.

For those of you guys that have been running trimmer heads with the bolt through the center cap, how long have they been holding up? Have you noticed you've had to replace the trimmer head caps a lot less frequently?

I feel this is a pretty cool design and idea, so we'll run with it in the mean time and see how it lasts and report back to you guys. Leave me a comment down below if you guys have done this before to your speed feed trimmer heads!
