I recently saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and I have some thoughts! Let's talk retroactive continuity, or retcon for short. With a focus on that Rey and Palpatine twist. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the follow up film to Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi. Episode IX is the final film in the sequel trilogy and the last of the entire Star Wars 'Skywalker saga' - created by George Lucas.
