Six-year-old Taryn’s sunny disposition is proof that she does not let her medical hardships stand in her way. Her mother, Kathleen, gave birth to Taryn at just 30 weeks, but sadly her twin sister did not survive. Taryn was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a condition that causes motor delays affecting her lower extremities. At just 5 years old, Taryn underwent surgery to loosen her tightened ligaments with the hope that she would be able to walk. She was transferred to Children’s Specialized Hospital for intense inpatient therapy where she began her long road to recovery. Taryn was discharged six weeks later and has made so much progress that she is expected to not only walk, but RUN within a year!
