In this video Michael Martin, author of "Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals," and Tim Schmidt, President and Founder of the USCCA, talk about the Cooper's four color codes.

John Dean "Jeff" Cooper was a United States Marine who invented the four color codes f awareness which are now universally accepted when talking about states of readiness. Cooper asserted that the primary means for surviving a lethal confrontation is neither weapon nor marital skill, but the mindset of avoiding the conflict to begin with. He developed these four color codes based on the training he was given as a Marine and now they are staple of everyone who trains for carrying concealed.

Michael and Tim explore the four color codes as set out by Jeff Cooper. They will also teach you why living in condition yellow is a good thing. A heightened sense of awareness should allow you to detect a threat before the threat can engage you, thus allowing you to avoid the confrontation altogether.
