No longer are we limited to nullDC's extra-geometry feature to achieve 16:9 aspect ratios on the Sega Dreamcast.

A new, superior method of achieving native 16:9 widescreen on the Dreamcast was discovered back in 2015.

The new method increases the game's horizontal FOV to compensate for the 4:3 image being stretched to 16:9, hence the name, Anamorphic widescreen.

The method works by overwriting the horizontal FOV variable in the Dreamcast memory.

Due to the nature of how variables are stored dynamically in Dreamcast RAM, each game will have a different address for this special FOV variable so each game has a unique codebreaker/gameshark code.

This method can be used with any emulator using cheat engine or a real Dreamcast using codebreaker.
