Chicory Tip - Son Of My Father (TopPop) (1972) (Full HD) (With Lyrics)

Bit of an unusual one this time, not unusual in terms of the song itself (tis an all time favourite of mine) but unusual in that I wouldn't normally upload a video that is full of scratches and glitches on this channel but there is a reason for it given below... 😉

For those that don't want to read that reason (cos it'll probably bore them to death) then here is "Chicory Tip" with "Son Of My Father" which was filmed for the Dutch TV show "TopPop". It was probably the very first big synth hit of all and basically made synth music popular in the UK and kicked off the music scene of "Synth Pop"... Enjoy... 😎

Now for the "reason" for anyone who might be interested...

Quite some time ago someone asked me if I could clean up this video which they sent me, after looking at it I told them "no, as it is in such a poor state that I could never really do much with it". The original video itself really is in very poor condition (you can watch it elsewhere on YouTube to see for yourself)...

It's riddled with scratches, drop outs, vertical rolling between each cut scene to name but a few issues with it but I thought I'd finally give it a go and see what I could do with it. This is the result, a far from perfect video still with many bad "scratches" in place but I took out most of them and sorted the really big issue of the "vertical rolling/ jumping" between each scene change which made the video a pain to watch...

Without putting in a ton of work for what would be only some minor improvement that could be made (and I already put in days of work just getting it to this) then to be honest it simply wouldn't have been worth the extra time and effort needed trying to clean it up any further...

So here it is as best as I'm going to get it and hopefully the person who asked for it will be a wee bit happy with it (sorry I've forgot your name and can't find the post where you requested it a couple of years ago) but it's better than it was and better than any of the other versions I've seen on YouTube...

Cleaned Up (ish), Sharpened Up (ish), Upscaled To Full HD and ReDubbed with a crisp clean remastered sound track (no "ish" about that part)... so Enjoy (ish)... 😊
