Today I wanted to see what I could do to clean the engine compartment using what I had on hand. I used a combination of Gunk engine degreaser, ZEP Citrus degreaser and Simple Green. I used several little brushes, the largest of which was a toilet brush. I also had a coarse scrubbing pad on a handle.

I decided to work from the outside of the engine compartment in. I started with the driver"s side because it is the dirtiest.

It took a couple hours including finding what I needed around the house and getting setup.
