One of America's most iconic sports cars - the Ford Shelby Cobra recorded its historic first ever win on Feb 2, 3, 1963 at the hands of Dave MacDonald. This was MacDonald's first ride with Shelby American and he paid immediate dividends running Cobra CXS2026 to the win at Riverside Raceway.

Video shows Dave MacDonald & teammate Ken Miles (CSX2002) blasting through turn 8 on the first lap of Sunday's main event. Miles slides off course and into the dirt but the world-class driver regains control just before slamming into the embankment and pulls back onto the track. Miles pitted his Cobra before laps end and with no apparent damage reentered the race to finish second behind MacDonald. MacDonald & Miles finished 1-2 both days giving Shelby American a weekend sweep.
