You're not reading this wrong, we really are talking about CalTrain in Los Angeles. If you didn't know about this, that makes perfect sense. It only existed for five months, starting in October of 1982 and lasting until March of 1983. It would not be until a few years later that the commuter train in San Francisco got the name CalTrain instead.
