The 2021 Isuzu MU-X is much more refined, quiet and comfortable than the previous version of this off-road wagon. But prices are also up – more than ten per cent. Does the new MU-X justify the extra coin? To start finding out, we take a close look at the new MU-X LS-U variant, which is just under $60,000 for the 4x4 version.

Rivals to the Isuzu MU-X include the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest.

The MU-X is based on the Isuzu D-Max ute.
