Learn how to locate your septic tank and drainfield the old fashioned way.

Step 1: Check the on-site terrain conditions.

Step 2: Identify where the waste stack terminates from inside the home.

Step 3: Probe into the ground a couple to few meters away from the termination point until you hit something solid, and probe a couple more times to be sure you’ve found the tank.

Step 4: Mark and/or note the tank’s location for future inspection or pumping needs, and have a riser installed to make the tank easily accessible in the future.
