The first ever tier 0 golden, probably not to be dethroned from top 1 until 2024. 3x larger time commitment than 7D golden twice in a row counting everything possible, ~14x larger time commitment than the more recent Tier 1 goldens I've done. By far the hardest thing I've ever done.

edit: "probably not to be dethroned from top 1 until 2024" o7d1dg is universally considered harder now, including by me. o7d1dg took me 547 hours less than wmfcg when i first did them so i thought wmfcg was harder. but now that other people have experience with both, and after i have redone wmfcg in mirror mode, its agreed o7d1dg is harder and that me thinking it was so much easier was me being biased from underestimating my improvement. so this was dethroned on july 14th 2023 by o7d1dg.

idk what to say but i guess ill just start typing.

i dont feel like anything has happened yet honestly. i was just playing the game, said i was going to do one more attempt, and i just, got the golden.
this took me about 11-12 months (exact start date is unknown), and 692 hours spent playing.

251 runs got past the first third of the level,
80 runs got past the checkpoint that marks the milestone above (Atmospheric edge, the beloved AE.)
22 runs made it to the last third,
17 runs made it to calamity,
11 runs died to the calamity ultra,
and 5 runs made it to the final checkpoint.


this took so long, definitely longer than it should've, and i cant say im not okay with that. honestly now that it's over im worried how i'll feel about not having something to do in the game anymore. at least not something that im so familiar with.

and honestly, yeah this was just comforting. doing something that you know will take you egregious amounts of time is honestly pretty comfortable if you take it the right way. you never feel pressured to get it done, so any lost progress is nothing but a mild annoyance, no matter how devastating it should be.

thanks to all the vc regulars in the waterbear cult discord for just being around to give me someone to talk to. you were a lot of the reason i played this as often as i did. and to mak for being an asshole all the time.

21:23, you can jump off the sides here without cornerjumps because the tiles are vivhelper cornerboost blocks. you're able to jump from farther away on cornerboost tiles, and the jump radius extends farther than the spike. which was fixed in a vivhelper update after this golden happened, but was then unfixed in vivhelper as it has a whitelist for maps where the old behavior is still used.

i dont really know how to continue this description further, this never felt painful. all i can say is i have NO FUCKING IDEA WHAT IM GOING TO DO NOW like holy shit i started this like because i had no other goldens to do like am i just supposed to do dmr now am i just supposed to just obsessively clear shit i dont know fucking ill figure it out tomorrow i guess
