Yvonne Norrman 1941-1985 was born in Vänersborg, Sweden. Her father played bas in the Folke Morthon dance orchestra. At a very young age she joined her father as singer in the band and they toured all summer long. In 1961 she entered the Folkets Parks Artistforum competition which she won. This gave her a contract with the Polydor record company and her first single "Du måste lära dig vad jag heter" was released that same year. During her productive years in the 60´s Yvonne recorded hand handful of singles and EP for different labels and different producers, all sought for today by record collections, but she never manage to score a big hit. Well, "Jag marscherar vid din sida" reached number one at Svensktoppen, so she wasn't without hits, but Yvonne was a copy of and will always be compared with the more famous singer Lill Babs. Why didn't Yvonne Norrman work with professional producers and arrangers? Although her collaboration with American Larry Finnegan was a step in that direction and his production "Tack för alla kyssar" received some air play. Yvonne never got the attention or the appreciation she so well deserved. Why couldn't she wait....
