This is a very elegant, timeless, and classy hairstyle for anyone with at least shoulder-length hair. Perfect for events when I need a chignon or something more put together than a messy bun. I used to have to put up my hair this way for ballet performances. All you need are bobby pins. You don't even need to tease your hair.

Extra tips for this hairstyle:

1) I find that a few spritzes of hairspray before I gather my hair into the initial ponytail helps keep my hair together better.

2) If you have any short, face-framing pieces around the crown, you can pull those out and curl them. Just make sure they're not too long...unless you're specifically going for that edgier '90s look.

3) Between hair pins (the open kind) versus bobby pins (the closed kind), I like the big open hair pins better. I find them easier to use when pinning buns.
