At the end of January 2024, there was very little snow left on the ground. Some of the farmers we know around us have said this was a first for them. We're not talking about moving to Mexico this winter!

With this flash melt, the ground behind the greenhouse sinks in and puts pressure on the greenhouse. So far so good! No noticeable movement.

I removed some of the chicken bedding in the coup and stored it to use in the summer as compost.

Do you know what a roasting bar is?

The root cellar demands emergency, immediate action to prevent the worse from getting even worser! lol

Installing new LED light in the shop. Well worth the $30 on amazon!

Restoring a free dresser from the dump.

Mouse trap fail.

Wrapping up the goat feeder

Going to Dave's place to hopefully get the 4x4 working and change the part that keeps the engine light on.

Building stairs to the loft in the shop.

We're almost ready for the visitors!

_______________

I purchased a camera in early 2003 and from then on, kept a regular video diary.

It is with Heart Wide Open, that I share my add-ventures on my journey in Life.

Every week I upload alternatively a video from the past (starting in 2003 while teaching English in Seoul, South Korea) and one from 6 months ago where I live off-grid, in the middle of nowhere, with the love of my life and our animals.

In the recent videos (episodes), you will see me learn to build, pretty much by myself, projects such as a root cellar, a passive solar greenhouse to grow food year round, a shop/garage with a mezzanine and tackle the daily challenges of living so remotely.

In the videos of the past, you will see the path which led me from teaching English in Korea to my current lifestyle. From the Freedom 35 project to Living in Slovakia, from marriage to divorce, you will witness my unique journey which has shaped me into who I am now.

Hope you enjoy!
