Vietnam has been hit hard by Asia’s strongest typhoon yet this year. Super typhoon Yagi reportedly caused heavy damage in northern regions of the country, killing more than 50 people and injuring another 299. Strong winds toppled structures and heavy rains triggered floods and landslides as the storm made landfall in Vietnam on September 7, 2024. Yagi also slammed into China's island province of Hainan, where the storm claimed four lives and forced over 410,000 to flee their homes.
