He spent his working days as a meat cutter in Kenosha Wisconsin. In 2007, he sat down with one of my cameramen/directors for interview about his life and times. I had a company called SAGAS whose purpose was to record the lives of ordinary people for legacy – for their family and close colleagues. We were testing the idea and asking folks around the country to participate. He agreed.

It was just an informal chat about his life, especially growing up in the 1940s and 1950s. He went to a one-room schoolhouse. He participated with his dad when he was a boy in illegal meat selling. Quite a story. He dearly loved his wife and tells the story of how they met. And he shares a story of how pure luck gave him the opportunity to have retirement money when he needed it.

Elmer was a kind and sweet and giving man. At the time, he enjoyed the dialogue and was proud to be a part of our new start up. Unfortunately, the startup failed as we could not get enough customers to hire our local camera crews to record this type of interview.

Although Elmer has passed on, I want to thank him and I hope that his family cherishes this video interview presenting just a bit of his life stories and his love for his wife.
