Teri is ready to offer a more critical understanding of what happens when they see themselves in photographs. A photographer for the past 10 years, she has photographed more than 1,500 people, and they all have said a version of “I look terrible in photos.” They aren’t the problem! They just may be missing what happens when we see ourselves in photographs.

Teri Hofford is a pioneering body image educator, photographer, and best-selling author who challenges individuals to confront and transform their body image biases through innovative education and empowerment experiences. Her groundbreaking work, including two acclaimed books, "The Geode Theory: Chipping Away at Body Image" and "2200 Characters or Less," has redefined approaches to self-perception and value. Teri travels internationally, hosting retreats, workshops, and speaking at conferences, where she addresses the critical intersections of body image, mindset, and self-worth. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
