John Wayne, a legendary Hollywood figure, passed away on June 11, 1979, at the age of 72 due to stomach cancer. Following his death, his funeral took place on June 15, 1979, at the Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach, California. Wayne's family had concerns about his grave attracting excessive attention from fans, tourists, and potential protests. Consequently, for 20 years, his burial site remained unmarked. It wasn't until 1999 that a simple bronze plaque was finally added to the gravesite. The grave features a modest headstone engraved with his name, birth, and death dates, and the quote, "Tomorrow is the most important thing in life."

Elizabeth Taylor, an iconic figure of Hollywood's Golden Age, was a British-American actress whose career spanned over six decades. Throughout her life, she faced various health problems, including surgeries, injuries, and illnesses. In 2004, Taylor was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and her condition deteriorated over time. In the weeks leading up to her death, she was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to heart failure and other complications. After her passing, a private funeral ceremony was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Taylor was laid to rest near her friend and former husband, Richard Burton. Her burial site is marked by a simple marker bearing her name, birth, and death dates, and a quote from the Gospel of John: "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
