Game of Thrones changed the television landscape when HBO upped the ante they had already upped when they entered into the originals market decades ago. The idea of cinematic television may have reached its peak at the sweeping epic based on George RR Martin’s unfinished The Song of Fire and Ice series Game of Thrones. Over the course of eight seasons the show was personified by the fact that no character no matter how beloved was safe except Jon Snow, and that wasn’t always clear. The series told the complicated politics and manuverting that came for a post revolution kingdom and the difficulty the new monarchs have maintaining unity without the overthrown kingdom’s dragons to do the job for them. This also then includes someone with dragons more than willing to take the reigns once again if only she hadn’t developed a moral compass over seven seasons and lose it in the last two episodes. Game of Thrones revolves around complicated family lines, some of which are not so much trees as poles, and the problems that causes. With so much mystery in the show it might seem random as bad things happened on top of bad things. But viewers are still going through those original series and finding all the tiny details and hints that would signal all of the wild places the series would take itself. With the House of Dragons giving us a prequel of sorts, let's review the show that started it all. What is your favorite detail?
