Want to play tight, quiet ghost notes? I hope so. Ghost notes add so much flavor and interest to a groove. I've heard good drumming described as "airy" and I certainly think the addition of well placed ghost notes are a big part of that.

We'll use the 16th note grid as our framework for practicing this. The prerequisite is that you have solid hand technique built up so you have control of the stick at very low stick heights. You'll need control at every stick height to be successful on the drums, and that's what my Better Hands course over at TempoLeague.com is for, but particularly for ghost notes, you really need to be in complete control when the stick is just centimeters off the head.

Check out the video to see what the 16th note grid is all about and start practicing!
