Martin said on his NotABlog website, hours before House of the Dragon's first episode aired on HBO and HBO Max last night. Also, in a recent interview, with Vanity Fair, George R.R. Martin said, he has given up on predicting when he will finish The Winds of Winter and/or A Song of Ice and Fire. This certainly wouldn't be the first time he has said this.
