The penultimate episode of Beyond Our Earth examines the greater understandings of the cosmos gained through the aid of telescopes. With each development of telescopic technology, scientific pioneers have made observations that challenge our understanding of the universe and our place within it. Enabling us to see far beyond the visible spetrum, the view of telescopes spans space and time, to the precipice of the Big Bang.

As we search through the heavens of our world, this episode focuses on the most famous of space telescopes - Hubble. Plagued with initial troubles, the Hubble eventually provided unprecedented views of the universe, from the Pillars of Creation, to the Horsehead Nebula, to extraordinary images of star clusters.
