Welcome to my off grid cabin iand weekend homestead in northern Minnesota.
Deer camp, bug out location, weekend homestead or just a place to escape the crazy world and enjoy good simple living...... My off grid camp is all of these!

I started out by turning an Amish made storage shed into a one room dry tiny cabin but at 12x22 it's always been perfect for one or two people.

I've started building another building. Call it a tiny cabin, bunkhouse, bath house or whatever you like, the purpose is to have space for guests when they visit. I will also be adding a space for an on demand shower. That whole idea is still in the planning stage.....

In this video I finish the floor deck. I opted to insulate using foam board panels. I avoided creating cavities that would allow mice a place to nest. In theory it should be rodent proof.....Is there REALLY such a thing? Time will tell. The foam is insect resistant and adds an R value of 5.9 to the floor.

I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not a builder and am learning as I go. So fair warning if you decide to do what I do. Do it at your own risk!
